The Science Of Suspension |
Usually, when people talk about how fast their car is, you'll hear them discuss the specs of their motor, their power-adder of choice, or even their car's weight. But drag racing is about more than raw horsepower.
To be able to run killer elapsed times- and stay off the walls - you have to be able to plant that power to the pavement, and to do that, you need a suspension that is up to the task. In addition to having the right hardware, you need the know how to set it up initially, and be able to adjust it to ever-changing track conditions to wring every last thousandth out of your combination.
Today, more than ever before thanks to the popularity of small tires and big horsepower, having a suspension that works well is critical to being competitive. |
